CALL FOR EXPERIMENTS

As part of the scientific programme of the Summer School on Computational Social Choice to be held in Amsterdam on 17-21 July 2023, we would like to organise a session on experiments that would allow participants to experience first-hand what kind of experiments the social choice community has been running and thinking about in recent years.

Are you able to help? Would you like to run your experiment at the summer school? You could come to Amsterdam, or we could run your experiment for you, or we could think of some online/hybrid solution.

Any kind of idea is welcome. The purpose of this is to allow participants to (a) experience what it is like to be a subject in a social choice experiment, to (b) see what designing and running such an experiment involves, and to (c) gain an overview of the kind of experimental research currently taking place in our community.

For now, what we have in mind is that there will be an "experiment session" of 90 minutes in the afternoon of Thursday the 20th of July, where participants walk around as they would in a poster session at a conference and try out the different experiments on offer. But if that format does not suit your experiment, we can think about alternatives.

Interested? Or at least wondering whether this might work for you? Then please email Ulle Endriss at your earliest convenience (preferably by 15 March 2023). Thanks!
